Thank you for visiting the volunteer management capacity survey
online dialogue.
Here you are able to review,
comment on and commit to
helping implement strategies to strengthen volunteer management
capacity in your own organization and organizations throughout the
country. These recommendations have been drafted
from input received
from volunteer management leaders, practitioners, funders and
policymakers based on the results of the recent Urban Institute study (PDF, 76Kb) of volunteer management capacity in our nation's charities and congregational social service outreach programs.
The Corporation for National and Community Service, The UPS
Foundation, and the USA Freedom Corps warmly welcome your comments and
commitments! We also encourage you to share this information with
others to broaden the discussion and scope of collaborative action.

New! Fact Sheet (PDF, 33Kb)
In response to the findings of the Urban Institute's national volunteer
management capacity study and the input of volunteer managers,
nonprofit leaders, researchers, funders and others, The UPS Foundation
has provided seed support for the Fund for the Advancement of Effective
Volunteer Resources Management. This pooled fund will be housed at the
National Human Services Assembly (www.nassembly.org). The Fund will
support sector-wide volunteer management priorities identified in the
research and by the input received (which is summarized below in the
From Research to Action brief).
UPS will provide up to $1 million over three years, and, along with
partner funders, aims to grow the Fund by at least another $5 million
to support volunteer management initiatives. To learn more about the
Fund, please review this fact sheet. If you have any questions or would
like to discuss the Fund, please send a message.
